Rusper and Colgate Branch would like to invite you along to a Virtual Wine Tasting event on Friday 4 December from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.
This will be held via Zoom in the comfort of your own home, so there will be no formal dress code!
On the day, we will deliver to your door, using appropriate social distancing measures, six interesting wines in 180 to 200ml bottles along with some other slightly esoteric ingredients including an apple, a lemon, some strong Cheddar Cheese and salt…
I hope this sounds intriguing and that you will be able to join us!
We are delighted that the event will be presented by Pip Mortimer, Head of Tastings and Events for IWSC (International Wine & Spirit Competition)
With over twenty years in the wine & spirits trade and everything from organising fancy black tie events to sweeping the cellar floor, Pip has experience in all areas of running drinks competitions and events.
Twenty years working for the oldest wine and spirits competition in the world has given Pip the skills to deal with a wide range of operational issues; from shipping bottles from the other side of the world, to categorising wines and spirits, moving pallets and organising black tie tastings and dinners. Pip teaches WSET Level 1 and 2 to budding wine enthusiasts.
WSET is the "Wine and Spirit Education Trust" and provides globally recognised education and qualifications in wines, spirits and sake, for professionals and enthusiasts.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Conservative event without a raffle! So, along with your wines you will receive a strip of raffle tickets included in the price, with first prize being a bottle of Champagne!
Our MP, Jeremy Quin will be joining us on the evening to give a short update and will hold a Q&A session for around 20 minutes. Anybody that wishes to ask questions of our local MP will be able to email these over in advance.
We appreciate that not everybody drinks wine, and if anybody would like to join us for the evening just to hear the Q&A from Jeremy, then you would be most welcome. We would ask for a small minimum donation of £5 and you will also get a virtual raffle ticket with a chance to win a non-alcoholic prize for your donation.
The price for this fun and hopefully educational evening is £50 per couple or £27.50 a person.
A Zoom link will be emailed out to join the Wine Tasting during the week prior to the event commencing.
I do hope you will join us in what promises to be a great festive evening together!
