Lib Dem run Horsham District Council continues to spend taxpayer’s money like water.
Not happy with spending over £10m on The Capitol, the Lib Dems have chosen their next vanity project: to terminate the lease on the council's existing offices at Parkside and to acquire new luxury premises on Springfield Road and refurbish them at a total cost of £2.5m.
The report to the Lib Dem cabinet is thin reading at only five pages with other parts “exempt” meaning that it is kept secret from the public.
The report states: “Various contractors and consultants will be required to configure the new premises to render them fit for purpose.” Why are consultants necessary to move down the road?
The public needs to know if Horsham District Council will be taking on the more than 60 car parking spaces for councillors and well paid council bureaucrats in the VIP parking section on the first floor in Swan Walk – and with its own private glass corridor to the offices.
When the decision was made by the Lib Dem cabinet and Council, John Milne MP was Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Planning.
Lib Dem run councils cost you more and deliver less.
