Claire has lived in Horsham for over 40 years and in Southwater North since 1986.
She became a Southwater Parish Councillor in 1989 and was first elected to Horsham District Council in 1991. She is a past governor of Southwater Infant Academy.
Claire was Chairman of Horsham District Council in 2001/2002 and again in 2011/2012
She has also been a Cabinet Member for 7 years and is currently Leader of Horsham District Council. Claire also sits on the Passenger Advisory Group, a sub committee of the Gatwick Consultative Committee GATCOM.
Claire has always dedicated herself to helping residents of Southwater with any of their concerns and has been active in holding surgeries in Beeson House on a monthly basis.
Claire was greatly involved in the redevelopment of the village centre in the early 2000s.
Conservation and the environment are very important to her and the wellbeing of Southwater residents. She will continue to work hard to help protect all the green spaces to be enjoyed by everyone for exercise and recreation.
When she gets time away from her busy council duties, Claire enjoys walking her border collie, the theatre and spending time with her family.
Claire’s aspiration is to continue to be the voice for the people of Southwater, highlighting their concerns and acting on their behalf.
Claire was re-elected to Horsham District Council in March 2024.
