John Chidlow is a resident of Southwater North and served as an HDC Councillor for 8 years from 2011 until 2019.
John works with the Southwater Neighbours Network and previously served as a school Governor at the Southwater Middle School Academy and as a Southwater Parish Councillor.
He is keenly interested in and believes he can contribute to, the following current issues:
- affordable Housing,
- youth employment opportunities,
- education,
- the importance of science and technology to a sustainable economy,
- the importance of Quality Management in manufacturing industry,
- sustainable and affordable public transport,
- effective governance of public services and financial management.
John’s interest in Manufacturing Industry Quality Management stems from his professional training in Industrial Chemistry. Although semi-retired he still works as an ‘freelance’ .
John enjoy long walks in open countryside and in 2021 completed the virtual Land’s End to John O’Groats challenge in one year.
